Purpose of the position
We are excited to announce we are looking for an Accounts Payable professional that is a team player with a positive can-do attitude. This individual must self-motivated and enjoys working in a fast paced environment. The role is part time (25-30 hours per week). The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and be able to effectively enter and track information with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities and duties
- Processing incoming payments and accounts and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and procedures.
- Evaluating reports and verifying discrepancies.
- Preparing and processing electronic payments, transfers and financial transactions.
- Maintaining accurate records and providing documentation for auditing and tax reporting purposes.
- Assist with general accounting tasks (account analysis and reconciliations).
- Special projects, as needed.
- Maintains strict confidentiality where advised.
Work experience and skills
- Strong Accounting and math skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (Access skills a plus)
- Understanding of Sales Tax principles
- Solid critical thinking and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience in the Design Industry a plus
*The right person for this role should have at least 3 years of experience in accounting. Competence in financial and bookkeeping software is necessary. An understanding of current accounting trends is a plus. Expert-Level knowledge of spreadsheets is crucial, and experience with word processing tools is essential for generating and writing reports for record-keeping and presentations. Since the candidate will be working with entries, experience with general ledgers is a must. Other desirable skills and experience include budget creation and finance management.
